The PT-50PHD4-P features an amazing resolution of 1366 x 768
to deliver beautiful high definition images. The 16:9 wide aspect
ratio HD display also offers the industry's highest contrast
ratio of 3000:1.
Offering unprecedented clarity and fine detail, the elegantly-crafted
PT-50PHD4-P provides expanded computer signal compatibility
to display VGA, SVGA, XGA, SXGA and UXGA resolutions and an
expanded range of horizontal and vertical scanning rates (fH:
15.6 -110kHz; fV: 48-120Hz). Equipped with component video (YPbPr)
inputs for full HDTV compatibility, it enables viewing of DTV/HDTV
signals in either 1080i, 720p, 480p or 480i. A show-stopping
display for a wide range of applications, from retail to commercial,
from video production to exhibitions, this ultra-thin, lightweight
50" display can produce a palette of 16.77 million colors.
The flat-screen display features the Real Black Drive System
that offers a dramatic improvement in black reproduction, contributing
to its exceptional 3000:1 contrast ratio. Conventional plasma
displays tend to illuminate blacks, which lowers contrast. In
the PT-50PHD4-P, the pre-discharge emission intensity is hugely
decreased, this dramatically reduces "black levels"
and provides much deeper, richer blacks.
Panasonic's unique Adaptive Brightness Intensifier (AI) increases
the discharge cycle for dark scenes and doubles the brightness
control precision over previous systems. The PT-50PHD4-P's unique
Asymmetrical Cell Structure achieves both high brightness and
crisp whites (a combination not possible with prior systems),
resulting in a substantial improved color display.
The panel has many advanced Digital Signal Processing functions,
including a precise False-Edge Predictor circuit to produce
smooth, highly-detailed natural-looking moving images, and a
3-Dimensional Progressive Scan function that elegantly converts
interlace signals (1080i and 480i) into progressive signals
for optimal viewing. The PT-50PHD4-P has a viewing angle of
160 degrees.
Other valuable features include low power consumption, handy
carrying handles, RS-232C interface for remote PC control, and
a host of user-friendly set-up functions (on-screen display,
