IMPORTANT
NOTE: Plasma TV's are often referred to as "plasma monitors".
This is because many plasma TV's don't actually come with a pre-installed
TV tuner. Without a TV tuner, a plasma monitor can only display
a signal from video sources such as DVD, VCR's, PC's etc. In these
cases, you won't be able to watch your favorite television shows without spending
the extra cash on a TV Tuner.

How
Plasma TV Works:
Plasma
TV uses a plasma medium (a mixture of gases) to display
digital signals. Plasma screens don't need the bulky
cathode-ray tube that's inside your conventional television.
They create their own radiance to produce the image
you see on the screen.
A
basic plasma screen consists of two thin sheets of glass
containing tiny, gas-filled cells. Electronic current
stimulates the cells to produce light and color, creating
a bright, steady, vivid picture.
